Have your medical report / doctor’s letter translated in certified form

You need a German certified translation of a foreign language (e.g. English, French, Italian, Spanish or Arabic) doctor’s report / letter? Or do you need to have your German medical report / doctor’s letter officially translated into a foreign language such as English, French or Italian? Then you have come to the right place. The translation of a medical report (also discharge report, patient report or report of findings) requires a high level of medical expertise, which we have thanks to our many years of specialization in medical translations. Thus, we are able to provide professional certified translations for a wide range of indications (e.g. cardiology, oncology, etc.), which you can submit to the relevant office.

When is a certified translation of a doctor’s report / doctor’s letter needed?

It is often health insurance companies or government agencies that require a certified translation of a medical report / doctor’s letter in order to prove certain treatments abroad or a certain health condition. Since the subsequent decisions (e.g., about reimbursement of treatment costs) often have a high personal and financial impact, it is especially important to provide a professional certified translation of the highest quality.

What is a medical report / doctor’s letter?

A physician report/physician letter is usually issued when a patient is discharged from a facility and transferred to another hospital or changes to outpatient care. The physician’s letter contains the following information, among other things:

  • Information on the patient’s previous course of disease
  • Information about treatments performed
  • Results of examinations / findings
  • Information about the patient’s condition
  • Recommendations for further treatment

The purpose of the physician letter is to ensure continuity of care. The referring physician can use the information to follow up on previous treatment. Physician letters are often sent by mail to the next treating facility – abbreviated versions are usually included by the patient on the day of discharge. You can also find more information on the IKK Südwest website.
